Named after the protecting deity of Bhutan GOMO, Gomo Adventures was first established in 2008 and is licensed by Tourism Council of Bhutan. Our office is located in first floor Dasho Tobgay S Dorji’s building, Wogzin Lam, below main traffic Thimphu Bhutan.

The very reason behind opening such an establishment goes to the founder’s experience in guiding tours in Bhutan. Mr. Punap Ugyen Wangchuk started as a cultural tour guide in 2002 and after six long years, he reaped his values into Gomo Adventures.

Ugyen Wangchuk, is a keen environmentalist and a firm believer of responsible tourism. He has extensive experience in guiding and tourism, besides photography. Ha has published several books on Bhutan: Authentic Bhutanese cookbook, Bhutan Portrait & Landscape, and calendar & postcards.

He is currently working and compiling another coffee table book. He actively dedicates himself in promoting the entire Himalayan region of Bhutan in the international tourism arena. His zeal and enthusiasm has led the company to touch new heights. He personally escorts his guest to the right place in right time.

He is a graduate of Dodedrak Buddhist Institute and Tango Buddhist college, after which he studied English in Hawaii, U.S.A. He is well grounded in Buddhist studies, the liturgy, and other religious observations.

He built Wangdue Eco-lodge (www.bhutanecolodge.com) on his ancestral land over looking the beautiful Wangdue valley. This was a step towards sustainable consumption and production of the country.

Ugyen Wangchuk (Punap) was born in 1972 in Thambji village, Punakha, ancient capital of Bhutan. He pursued English in the United States after his primary education in Bhutan.A graduate from Dodedrak Buddhist Institute and Tango Buddhist College, Ugyen is well grounded in Buddhist studies, liturgy, debate, and other religious observations.13 yeas as a monk and grew up in the rural village and has 8 brother and sisters.Guiding since 2002, he is well informed about Bhutan’s culture, Buddhism, trekking and photography. He has led numerous cultural, trekking, and photographic trips for the past twelve years. He is very cool man.
