About Gomo Adventures
Named after the protecting deity of Bhutan, Gomo Adventures was established in 2008 and is licensed by the Tourism Council of Bhutan. Our main office is located in Thimphu City, Wogzin Lam, Bhutan.
The very reason behind creating such a company goes to the founder’s experience in guiding tours. Ugyen Wangchuk began as a cultural tour guide in 2002 and after six years, he transformed his values, knowledge, skills and strengths into Gomo Adventures.
Ugyen is passionate about photography, and also writing about his beloved country. He has published several books including the Authentic Bhutanese Cookbook and Bhutan Portrait and Landscape. Many of the postcards you see in Bhutan are also derived from his work. He is compiling a coffee table book titled The Essence of Bhutan, due out later this year.
Ugyen Wangchuk, the driving force behind Gomo Adventures, is also a keen environmentalist and a firm believer in responsible tourism. He developed the first eco friendly lodge Wangdue Ecolodge and is now developing Community Based Tourism in the Punakha area … a step towards sustainable consumption and production in Bhutan
